Kinshasa airport fees: GoPass, the statistics tax and the $30 security fee
Departing international passengers at Kinshasa's N'djili airport pay the US$50 GoPass and a US$5 statistics tax, in cash at the bank counter in the airport, before departure. The US$30 security fee in the news is, according to the Interior Ministry, an existing charge already inside international fares. A planned contract to run new border systems from that fee was signed in 2025 but had not come into force as of October 2026.

How to pay
- Arrive early. Before check-in, go to the bank counter in the terminal.
- Pay the GoPass (US$50 for international flights) and the US$5 statistics tax in US dollars cash. Keep both receipts.
- Show the receipts when asked at check-in or boarding.
Where the money goes
The GoPass funds the Infrastructure Development Fund and is collected by RVA, the state airport authority. RVA put out a tender in September 2025 to move the GoPass to digital collection.
The security fee is collected by airlines inside the ticket. Under the signed 2025 systems contract, once in force, part of that existing money would fund a new border and immigration system, split 85% to the contractor and 15% to the state, with the equipment passing to the state at the end of the contract.
